Inspiring Movies - L Change The World (2008)

l.jpg

I just came back from the movie theatre in Vivocity, Singapore after watching the movie "L Change The World". L Change The World is a spin-off movie from the "Death Note" sequels which is about the last 23 days of L, the hero.

After solving the Kira case (in Death Note 1 and 2), another serious one finds L and he has only 23 days left to solve it. A boy and a girl hold the key to solving the case and L faces a crisis of global magnitude to protect the kids. He is without his most trusted partner, Watari, and cannot rely on his superb intellect alone to solve the case. What will happen to L? What will change? The 23 days are packed with turns of events even L himself cannot predict. This movie spin-off do not have the "Death God" that always eat apples.

The show instead touches alot on Human Mankind and it's kindness, forgiveness and passion. The young 13-years old girl and the small boy have also acted briliantly in the show, supporting L, the lead actor to portray the soft part of him. I was inspired when he brought the young boy to a orphanage and mentioned the following statement (below), before he left to die on his own (due to a curse that he had on himself to save the world):

"No Matter How Gifted You Are, You Alone Cannot Change The World"

Below is a short trailer that i would like to share with you.

For those from US and Europe, i hope you have a chance to watch this movie.

Beware of low cost Flip Flops

Halo,

I just received an email from a friend about the low cost flip-flops that some people wore, and have serious skin reaction to their feet. It seems like the chemicals that are used to make the flip-flops have created irritation to the skin. Being a chemist by training, i know how bad some chemicals are to our body.

Based on the email, it seems to come from a China source, but brand is not stated. This is the pictures that was sent to me. Pardon me for the gore, but i thought it is important to share with my readers. Also, i think we have to be careful whenever we feel itch to our feet. Stop wearing the flip-flops whenever you feel the itch.

For me, i don't have this problem as my Hippo-Bloo Flip-Flop is damn cool and comfortable.

More Interesting Quotes from Andrew Matthew

More interesting and inspiring quotes from Andrew Mathhew's "Happiness In A Nutshell" book.

Next time you are upset, remember it’s not so much people who makes you angry,as your thoughts about them.
Whatever thoughts are causing you pain, they are only thoughts. You can change a thought.

Because we are always attracting the learning experiences we need, we often attract what we fear.
If you fear loneliness, you’ll attract that.
If you fear embarrassment, you’ll fall on your face.
It’s your life’s way of encouraging us to grow.
The only way to beat fear is to face it.

When your body hurts, pain reminds you to take a rest, or maybe to change your shoes or to find a better way.
When your mind hurts, pain reminds you to quit worrying or to be more forgiving, or to think a different way.
Pain is not your enemy.
Pain is your friend!

Courage is not the absence of fear-
Courage is acting in spite of fear.
People who do nothing with their lives are just as scared as people who take major risks.
It’s just that the first group get scared over tiny things.
Why not get scared over something significant?

Famous Fried Carrot Cake in Clementi, Singapore

Hi,

This is a picture of the boss/or master chef of the famous fried carrot cake in Clementi Market, Singapore. This market is near to the Clementi MRT station and serves lots of good food. But for me, i just like the fried carrot cake served by him. Heard he has been making fried carrot cake for more than 50 years experience. No wonder it is so tasty. I must say that the carrot cake is second to none, in Singapore.

Besides his great cooking, there is also something interested in his stall. His son is helping him with the stall, and is in charged of collection of money, order placement as well as servicing it to the customer. This young man wears a pair of sports shoe and he run from one corner of market to another corner to make delibery services. Truly athletic and inspirational in his dedication to serve his customer with the food asap.

Do find time to check out their stall at Clementi Market.

Interesting Quotes from Andrew Matthews

Halo Planet,

Following are some inspirational quotes that i find it interesting while reading through Andrew Matthew's "Happiness in A Nutshell" book. This is more like a "bible", a field book - that makes us feel so much better when we read through it at time of sadness and/or unhappiness.

Usually, the best place to make a new start is where you are!
Before changing your address, consider changing your thinking!
When you change, your situation changes.
It is Law.

We all fail.
But it is not failing that hurts.
What hurts is knowing that you didn’t give your best.

Have the discipline to do little things you don’t like-
and you can spend your life doing the big things you do like.

Happy people don’t just accept change, they EMBRACE it!
They are the people who say:
“Why would I want my next five years to be like my last five?”

The moment you get too attached to things, people, money…you screw it up!
The challenge of life is to appreciate everything and attach yourself to nothing.

On giving advice:If people aren’t asking you, they usually don’t want the information!

Make this year a Happy and Successful One for You.
Chinese New Year means celebration and the Year of the RAT is a special one to chinese as it is the first in the Chinese Zodiac of the 12 animal signs. The RAT is respected and is often associated with admirable qualities like courage and determination. Sounds like Ratatouille yeah!
This is often seen as a year of renewal, a year in which it is good to embark on change, or a change of direction.

While the new year is an occasion for eating, sharing and gathering, what happens ater all this joy and celebration? We need to carry on and continue for the quest towards a truly happy new year.

How do we do that?
We need to come up with a roadmap for a truly good life.
We need to honest with ourself and be aware of our own procrastination and attitude. We need to set goals for the year ahead and be really commited towards making our life better.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Diabled Spy Satellite Flying Towards You?

United States government officials has mentioned that a large American spy satellite has lost power and could hit the earth in late February or early March. The satellite, which can no longer be controlled, could contains hazardous materials such as Hydrazine (a toxic chemical which is colorless and having a ammonia-like smell)which can cause harm to anyone that comes into contact with, and it is unknown where it is now in the orbit and when it will come down to earth. This is considered Secret and thus no names have been mentioned.

It was not clear how long ago the satellite lost power, or under what circumstances. Many insiders and defence experts believed that the satellite probably died as long as a year ago and is about to re-enter the atmosphere. We are perhaps talking about the size of a bus (and weighing 9,000kg) that might fall on you anytime soon.

Officials have confirmed that appropriate government agencies are monitoring the situation but would not comment on whether it was possible for the satellite to be shot down. A senior person has also commented that other countries are also being kept aware of this matter.

I just hope it wont land into anyone. Pray hard it go into ocean, such as in 1979 where an unconrolled spacecraft that fell from orbit and its debris dropped harmlessly into the Indian Ocean and a remote section of western Australia.
