Durian Festive Season in Singapore

Anyone of you have not taste durian before? or even seen or hear durain before?

Durian is known as the KING of fruits in this part of the region. It is a "treasure fruit" in Southeast Asia and it grow best only in such hot and humid tropical weather.

Lots of people from the West (and also some from the East!) could not understand why we love durian so much. They just cannot stand the smell of it. But you know what, once they taste it 1-2 times, they grow to like the taste (flavor) of the durian.

Last few days my dad has been bashing bushes in Singapore and compete with many "uncles" to pick durian that has dropped from their trees when it is ripe for the taking. In fact, right now is the festive season for durian trees to start "dropping" their fruits.

Just had 2 durians this evening. Couldn't show you the durian fruit as i had it messed up. So here i attached a picture of a Huge Durian Decor displayed at the Carlton Hotel located in Singapore central area. If you happened to come to Singapore, or other parts of Southeast Asia, do remember to ask for Durians - The KING of FRUITS!
